I am committed to improving the quality of life for the community I grew up in. As a parent of two young girls, I recognize that the choices we make today impact the future for those who will inherit our beautiful city. A healthy community is a thriving community.
For the past decade, I have dedicated my life to serving Santa Cruz County families by working together with community partners to initiate measures for our youth to succeed, creating policies to promote a healthy and thriving lifestyle, and being a voice for social equity issues. I strongly value preventative measures that promote a healthy community.
After obtaining both my B.A. in Legal Studies from UCSC and attending CSUMB/ Leon and Sylvia Panetta Institute for my Master’s degree in Public Policy, I have come to recognize the value and role public policy has in influencing social and environmental impacts. I value collaboration, strategic planning, policy analysis, accountability, and data-driven decision-making.
As an active civic leader, I am currently a Senior Community Organizer for the Santa Cruz County Office of Education. I also served as a founding board member for Digital NEST and am currently on the the Dominican Community Advisory for Dominican Hospital. Notably, I am a member of the County Child Care Planning Council and a former commissioner of the Santa Cruz City Commission for the Prevention of Violence Against Women.
Through this work, I am constantly reminded how committed our community is. Santa Cruz residents care deeply about our city and incredible people step up to work on solutions every day. I want to participate in continuing to explore solutions that will secure a vital future for Santa Cruz County.
